SNF QRP Provider Training – New Items in Section GG and I

This afternoon, CMS hosted a follow-up training designed to provide information about properly coding the new items in Section GG as well as Section I that will be found on the MDS 3.0, v1.16.1 Item Set effective October 1, 2018.  The presentation handout provides additional clarification and guidance on these new items.  The webinar included:

  • An overview of Section GG: Functional Abilities and Goals and Section I: Active Diagnoses
  • New items related to Section GG and Section I added to the MDS
  • Coding instructions for new items related to Section GG and Section I and
  • Practice coding scenarios
