CMS posted Transmittal 204 – Revisions to the State Operations Manual (SOM) Appendix Z – Emergency Preparedness – on Friday, April 16, 2021.   This is a 101-page Transmittal.

If you read my March 26, 2021 blog, you’ll find reference to the QSO-21-15-ALL memorandum telling us about these changes.  That QSO provided us with the advance copy of the updated Appendix Z.  Transmittal 204 makes the revised Appendix Z official – as of April 16, 2021.  Appendix Z “belongs” to nearly every post-acute provider so please share this update with your team so you can attain/remain compliant with federal regulations.
