CMS has posted the nursing home data for week ending May 30, 2021.
Staff deaths have increased by 9 since the May 23rd accounting while resident deaths appear to be adjusted back to 132,608 from 132,749 on the May 23rd report.
Reporting of COVID-19 vaccination made its initial appearance with the May 30th report.
“As part of CMS’ commitment to protecting nursing home residents, nursing homes are now required to report vaccinations of residents and staff. More information about these requirements and guidelines can be found here. High staff vaccination rates are critical to keeping rates of COVID-19 cases low. Facilities with 75% or more completed vaccinations for staff are listed here. Each individual facility’s resident and staff vaccination rate is available in the downloadable data set at the bottom of this page, as well as in the Search for a Nursing Home map (e.g., enter a city or state, and click on a dot to see that nursing home’s information).” The facilities with 75% or more completed vaccinations for staff carries a date of June 10, 2021 and appears much like the county positivity rates posted each Monday morning. Here’s a sample of the first several providers in this report:
There appears to be 722 providers that have attained the 75% or greater status in 48 states. This is encouraging – keep up the good work!
The CDC’s COVID Data Tracker Weekly Review provides a great synopsis. The current Interpretive Summary is for June 4, 2021. There’s a great deal of data on this page. Additionally, you can subscribe to a weekly review email.
