Late yesterday (September 8, 2022), CMS posted the updated version of the PDPM Grouper – v2.1000. The notification of the availability of the grouper is found here. (Note that CMS identified the date as September 8, 2021 but meant it to read 2022.)

The direct link to the grouper is here.  This is a .zip file. When you open this file, you’ll find this PDF:

As a reminder, you’ll also find the FY2023 PDPM ICD-10 codes for I0020B here. For more information, review my August 22, 2022 blog.

A review of the current MDS 3.0 RAI User’s Manual, October 2019, specifically Chapter 6, will help refresh your knowledge of the PDPM system.

NOTE: we will NOT have a new version of the MDS 3.0 Item Set nor a new RAI User’s Manual this October.  We will be implementing the updated MDS 3.0 v1.18.11 as well as working with the corresponding, updated RAI User’s Manual next year for implementation on October 1, 2023.
