Last week (June 26, 2023), I contacted Nadine Olness, RN, MN RAI Coordinator/Case Mix Review to ask about Minnesota’s plan for using the MDS 3.0 v1.18.11 effective October 1, 2023 for case mix reimbursement.
Ms. Olness’ reply (greatly appreciated!) was:
“Minnesota will continue to Use the RUGs-IV classification system for Medicaid and Private pay stays after 10/1/2023. Therefore, the OSA will be required beginning 10/1/2023. All of the details have not been worked out yet. When they are, we will be providing training. Look for the training in late August and Early September.”
I’ll continue monitoring these Minnesota websites for news regarding training: Case Mix Classificationand Training and Conferences. I’ll share those provider trainings when they’re posted.
