If you are a SNF/LTC or Swing Bed facility and use jRAVEN software to encode and transmit MDS 3.0 data to CMS, the version you need to use starting October 1, 2019 is now available for download at https://qtso.cms.gov/software/jraven-170.
The following was posted on the MDS 3.0 Technical Information website with a date of September 25, 2019:
It is strongly recommended that you use Chrome to download the jRAVEN application. If using Internet Explorer, you may receive a pop-up message warning that the application you are about to install is “…an unrecognized app” and Windows has prevented the app from starting or that the signature is invalid. If you do receive a warning message like this, you can still complete the installation by either right-clicking on the jRAVENSetup…exe, or selecting “More info”, where you will have the option to “Run anyway”. Once you select to run, the install process will complete as usual.
jRAVEN v1.7.0 is now available for download under the related links section at the bottom of this webpage. Users do not need a previous version of jRAVEN to download, install or use jRAVEN v1.7.0.
jRAVEN v1.7.0 includes the following enhancements:
- MDS Item Set Version V1.17
- MDS Data Specification Version V3.00
- VUT Version V3.1.0
- The new PDPM Grouper
- Supports the Correction Policy update to not allow corrections if it causes the target date to cross over the 10/1/2019 date
- Supports the updated submission timeframe change from 3 years to 2 years
For additional questions related to jRAVEN or technical support please contact the QTSO Help Desk by calling 800-339-9313 or by email to email@example.com.
Do NOT use the related link at the bottom of the MDS 3.0 Technical Information page as that takes you to the current version of this free CMS software – v1.6.1. Use the link I provided in the 1st paragraph of this blog to download the version that corresponds to the MDS 3.0 v1.17.1 and PDPM.
Note this message at the top of the jRAVEN 1.7.0 website: Attention, the site will be under maintenance on Friday, September 27th from 4pm ET until 6pm ET.
