A Framework for Mitigation is actually entitled Implementation of Mitigation Strategies for Communities with Local COVID-19 Transmission. The 10-page document provides great information:
- Background, Goals and Guiding Principles
- Table 1. Local Factors to Consider for Determining Mitigation Strategies
- Table 2. Community mitigation strategies by setting and by level of community transmission or impact of COVID-19
- Table 3. Potential mitigation strategies for public health functions
- Appendix A: Underlying medical conditions that may increase the risk of serious COVID-19 for individuals of any age
Each of the 3 tables provide clear guidance on potential mitigation strategies, ranking them as None/ Minimal, Moderate and Substantial.
Table 2 addresses these settings:
- Individuals and families at home
- Schools/childcare
- Assisted living facilities, senior living facilities and adult day programs
- Workplace
- Community and faith-based organizations
- Healthcare settings and healthcare provider (includes outpatient, nursing homes/long-term care facilities, inpatient, telehealth)
Appendix A provides this information:
Share these documents with your team and with other members of your overall community. We’re all in this together.
