Back in March, I blogged on New AHRQ Nursing Home Resources Aimed at Preventing COVID-19.   AHRQ (Agency on Healthcare Research and Quality) now has new Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) COVID-19 Observational Audit Data Tracking Tool helps nursing home staff compile and track data on PPE use. The pre-programmed Excel workbook collects PPE audit data and identifies patterns of use and efforts to improve PPE compliance. An accompanying user guide provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for recording PPE observations quickly and accurately, leads staff members through the data entry process and provides narrative directions and screen-capture visuals. Access the tool and user guide (6 pages) as well as other resources aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19.

The Personal Protective Equipment COVID-19 Observational Audit Data Tracking Tool and User Guide help nursing homes identify performance patterns and target improvement more readily with an analytic tool to compile personal protective equipment (PPE) audit data.

Persons with disabilities experiencing problems accessing the content in the Excel file should contact Karen Fleming-Michael (301-427-1798, karen.flemingmichael@ahrq.hhs.gov) and ask for assistance.
